Do I need a stainless steel accumulator for the water service?

Many a time have we been asked this question by the customers. The answer is : Not Necessarily.

An all stainless steel accumulator can provide the best corrosion protection for water or chemical applications. However, due to its high cost, most of the customers try to use other alternative materials or coatings instead. Our high pressure accumulators provide the customers with different service options to meet the requirements and save costs with the following configurations:

OS-standard lube oil service, carbon steel shell,
W1-standard water service, carbon steel shell, Nickel rich interior and exterior coating, Nickel plated wetted components.
W2-high water service, carbon steel shell, Nickel rich interior and exterior coating, stainless steel components.
W3-extreme water, subsea service, carbon steel shell, epoxy coating interior and exterior, stainless steel components.
S-all stainless steel, best corrosion protection.

As we can see, carbon steel shell with special coating and components is sufficient for most of water and chemical services. However,  for some special applications, such as food industry, requiring clean surface or applications requiring consistence with other stainless steel parts, or really harsh corrosive applications, an all stainelss steel accumulator will be the only choice.
